You will learn from experienced beekeepers, videos, written material, hands-on demonstrations and hands-on practical beekeeping. You’ll receive full instructions on the kinds of equipment you need, where to get it and where to get your bees. Staff and students will be invited to join University Bee Group for continuing education and mentoring.

Members of the public can join Bradford Beekeepers Association for continued mentoring, help and support.

The classes will cover the following topics:

  • Honeybee Biology
  • Basics of the Hive
  • Basic Beekeeping Equipment
  • Purchasing and Assembling Hive Equipment
  • Obtaining and Installing Honeybees
  • Inspecting and Managing the Hives
  • Solving Common Beekeeping Problems
  • Preparing Your Hives for Honey Collection
