Notice of AGM 2018

This is to give notice that the Yorkshire Beekeepers’ Association Annual General meeting will take place on Saturday, 24th November, 2018 (10am) at the Normanby Pavilion, Harrogate.  All members are invited to attend (we expect each district to send along at least one representative) and it would be helpful if you could let us know which members you expect to represent your district and the contributions they will be making.  The following business will be part of the Agenda:

Guest Speaker: Rinke Vinkenoog (Northumbria University) will speak about “Urban versus Rural Pollination”. Modern agriculture often makes the countryside a less welcoming place for wild flowers and their pollinators, whereas urban and suburban areas can offer surprising possibilities. As a result, we see that “Urban Beekeeping” is on the rise. But where do our honeybees and our wild pollinators go? Are there indeed differences in pollination ecology in and out of town?
