ABOUT YBKA

The Yorkshire Beekeepers Association (YBKA) is affiliated with The British Beekeepers Association (BBKA) and has around 2000 members and is made up of 22 affiliated district associations.

The YBKA is governed by a Council consisting of elected members and officers. Member Associations are encouraged to contribute their views as to the future role and development of the YBKA.

The YBKA is a vibrant and dedicated organization that brings together beekeepers from across the stunning region of Yorkshire. Established in 1882, the association has played a crucial role in promoting the welfare of bees and supporting the local beekeeping community. With a strong emphasis on education and sharing knowledge, the YBKA regularly organizes workshops, seminars, and training sessions to equip beekeepers with the necessary skills and techniques to care for their colonies effectively. 

Through its dedication to education, community engagement, and the preservation of bees, the YBKA continues to make a significant impact in the region, ensuring the well-being of bees and the sustainability of beekeeping practices for generations to come.
